We are settling into summer at Libraries Tasmania, and this January it’s all about discovery.
Escape into one of our online exhibitions from the comfort of your lounge room where you can view early paintings and photographs of Tasmania’s beautiful beaches or explore the wilds of the Tasmanian wilderness.
Find your new favourite book in our eLibrary, sit back and relax with a magazine, or pick up one of the fresh new arrivals waiting to be borrowed. Don’t forget to check out the annual Libraries Tasmania Top 10s when they’re announced on 17 January!
Our librarians have been busy compiling eBook and eAudiobook recommendations for you this summer! Take a look here:
Visit the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts and enjoy our latest exhibition, Vision of a palawa. This unmissable exhibition features watercolours by Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Rodney Gardner, alongside the newly uncovered original drawings of 19th century French artist Nicolas-Martin Petit.
Join in at one of our workshops across the state:
- Chess club at Kingston Library
- Knitting for charity or Film Club – Paper Champions at Burnie Library
- Wellness Walks at Rosny Library
- Beamafilm – Lion at Bridgewater Library
- History Room Sessions at the State Library and Tasmanian Archives.
For the kids… We have a host of exciting activities for those young explorers. Take a look at the Libraries Tasmania summer holiday program and register for Solve It @ Your Library. Your child can even go in the draw to win a Nintendo Switch.
To find out what else is on offer and to register, search for Libraries Tasmania on Eventbrite, or contact your local library. Bookings are essential.
