Indigenous Literacy Day 2022 is on 7 September.
Indigenous Literacy Day – Celebrating Stories, Cultures and Languages – is proudly presented by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, supported by the Australian Publishers Association, the Australian Booksellers Association, the Australian Society of Authors, and the Children’s Book Council of Australia.
The Indigenous Literacy Foundation supports remote communities by providing new, culturally relevant books and learning resources to children and families across Australia in their Book Supply Program.
Special event! George Town Community Hub will be celebrating National Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday 7 September from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at our Bush Kinder program with families and children aged 0–5 years. Sammie-Jo will be sharing cultural stories and language followed by exploring the environment with nature play.
Libraries across Tasmania will be celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day. Get in touch with your local library to join the celebration, or join the national event online from your own device.
